A Splash Of Colour And Emotions
An article published in the NEW STRAITS TIMES, 4 December 2007

Ungku Farrah Rahman’s passion for colours can be seen in her paintings on display at the Balai Berita lobby till the end of the year.
KUALA LUMPUR: A passion for colours and turning her thoughts and emotions into works of art bring endless joy to Ungku Farrah Rahman.
The homemaker turned to painting to while away her time and most of her paintings are in her home and not in art galleries.
This is because Farrah wants to get close and personal with her buyers and does not want her creations to be lugged off without knowing the home it is going to.
Having held an exhibition at the Maybank headquarters five years ago, Farrah's work will be on display this month at the Balai Berita lobby at 31, Jalan Riong, Bangsar, here.
"Art is an emotional medium. When you take your time to appreciate it, you can feel the soothing effect of the painting and expand your imagination."
There's an unmistakable presence of her feminine side shown in some of her work.
Farrah started with sketching and expanded to oil and acrylic.
She said her painting techniques were self-taught but it was a long learning process of self discovery and adapting to put her thoughts and emotions onto canvas.
"It does not matter if people do not buy my work, I am just as happy if they come and appreciate it."
Her favourite piece in her collection is titled Disappearing. "I have a close bond with this piece as it was among the first that I painted."
